Idi Amin Dada was one terrifying guy. Maybe the oversized boxing persona added to the scare factor.

Great link (to this day in hx). I also noticed for 1/25/98, a headline about the Pope calling for reform in Cuba. I recall that all the media were there for His historic trip, leaving no one but NPR and PBS folks to cover the next day's headline.
